New York City marks the 25th anniversary of September 11 with memorial ceremonies, performances and public programming while New York Fashion Week continues across Manhattan. The weekend also brings the US Open finals, outdoor art shows, food festivals, free concerts and other cultural events across the five boroughs.
Friday, September 11
- 9/11 25th Anniversary Commemoration — The annual ceremony at the 9/11 Memorial in Lower Manhattan honors those killed in the September 11 attacks, with the Memorial plaza open to the public later in the day and the Tribute in Light visible after dusk; free.
- Table of Silence Project 9/11 — More than 150 dancers and musicians perform the annual outdoor remembrance ritual at Josie Robertson Plaza at Lincoln Center; free.

- New York Resounds — The American Symphony Orchestra performs a memorial program at Bryant Park as part of the park’s free Picnic Performances series; free.
- New York Yankees vs. New York Mets (September 11–September 13) — The Yankees and Mets open a three game series at Yankee Stadium, with the September 11 game including special tributes to first responders and those lost in the attacks; ticketed.
