The Crystal Ball Experience encompasses a multi-sensory journey through One Times Square, a landmark originally built in 1904 as the headquarters of the New York Times. Over time the building became synonymous with New Year’s Eve, beginning with the first ball drop in 1907. Early visitors can learn about the evolution of the ball from its humble beginnings as a five foot iron and wood sphere lit by light bulbs to the modern LED-enhanced showpiece that captivates millions of viewers around the world each year.
From a glass elevator, visitors ascend to a 360 degree viewing deck high above Times Square that offers sweeping views of the city’s skyline. This vantage point provides a unique perspective on the famous crossroads where thousands gather annually to watch the ball’s descent. Those with access tickets can step close to the Constellation Ball itself, posing for photos and experiencing the artistry of its preparation.
For guests seeking an even more interactive moment, the Premium Ball Experience allows them to participate directly in the ball’s story. Participants can replace a 2025 crystal with a new 2026 crystal and take home the original as a keepsake, making their visit a personal contribution to the ongoing tradition.
